Biography
I have just finished my bachelor's degree in Second Language Teaching at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, QC, Canada. I am fluent in French, English and Spanish, and I have
been teaching music for 8 years now. I have given private piano lessons, and I have
also worked for various music schools.
I grew up in Reunion Island, a French overseas department; I therefore had the
opportunity to follow the French educational system within a multicultural
environment. I started studying foreign languages (English, German, Spanish)
in highschool. As a teenager, I used to spend my free time playing the piano
and discovering new languages (Italian, Dutch, Norwegian) by listening to songs
and online radio shows, suscribing to newsletters or finding penpals from all
around the world. I still have this passion for learning, so I have always kept an
extra-curricular language I can study in my spare time.
At the age of 19, I had the opportunity to move to Quebec. I entered the Conservatory of Music in Trois-Rivières and
studied piano performance for four years, to complete my musical studies. I started teaching music and realized I enjoyed sharing my passion and interests with my students. I therefore applied to one of the Teacher Education Programs, at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières. Amongst the possible options, I chose to specialize in Second Language Teaching (English and Spanish). I enjoy visiting new places, learning more about languages and dialects; I was given the opportunity to visit Nova Scotia three years ago (I have put some pictures of my trip below; I unfortunately lost my best pictures) and I hope I can visit more provinces in the upcoming years and broaden my knowledge of the English language and culture.
